ABOUT THE ARTIST Fluent in five languages, Bouky immigrated to the United States in 1969. She maintains a home and studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she studied photography at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Bouky has worked as a photographer since 1989 and has devoted herself to projects that further global consciousness; serving cultural institutions, such as, the Montessori Federation, the Alliance Francaise, and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. As a photographer, Bouky engages an architectural dialogue with her subjects, seeking the nuance of structural relationships and revealing the symbolic complexity of natural forms. Her most recent body of digital photographs presents close-up shots of trees, inspired by the enduring spirit and living aesthetic on planet Earth. She captures the abstract beauty of organic forms and illuminates the fundamental connection between humans and the natural world. |
