ABOUT THE ARTIST

Bouky Labhard is an artist of international perspective whose photographs reveal a profound sensitivity and visionary relationship with nature. Born and raised in Athens, Greece, she first studied in Geneva, Switzerland , earning a degree in architecture and interior design. Fluent in five languages, Bouky immigrated to the United States in 1969. She maintains a studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bouky is an autodidact photographer and has devoted herself to projects that further global consciousness. As a photographer, Bouky engages in an architectural dialogue with her subjects, seeking the nuance of structural relationships and revealing the symbolic complexity of natural forms. She captures the abstract beauty of organic forms and illuminates the fundamental connection between humankind and the natural world.

In her recent body of work, she photographed Warren MacKenzie, a world-renowned Master Potter, making pots in his studio in Stillwater, MN. and at The Leach Pottery, in St. Ives, Cornwall, U.K.
